Once upon a time, there lived an ant and a grasshopper. The grasshopper sang in the summer and didn’t do anything. The ant, on the other hand, worked hard all day long. She would carry food grains to her tiny house.
The grasshopper saw her and invited her to rest for a while. He even offered to sing for her. But, she did not agree. “ I must carry the food grain,” she said. The grasshopper only laughed at her.
Soon the season changed. It was winter, and it was really very cold. The ant was safe and warm in her little house. Her brothers and sisters were with her. But the grasshopper…well, he had no place to go. And, no food to eat. He was tired and so very cold!
It was only now that he understood why the ant worked so hard.
